New Zealand Credit Card Spending Jumps 1.5% In April

The value of total credit card spending in New Zealand was up a seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent on month in April, Statistics New Zealand said on Tuesday.

That follows the 0.4 percent increase in March.

Retail card spending advanced 0.9 percent - beating forecasts for 0.5 percent and up from 0.1 percent in the previous month.

Core retail spending (which excludes the vehicle-related industries) rose 0.4 percent in April after a 0.2 percent rise in March.
