OECD Leading Index Signals Stable Growth Momentum

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development said the leading index suggested stable growth momentum in the region as a whole.

The leading index held steady at 99.6 in April, data showed Wednesday.

For Canada and the euro area, the index suggested stable growth momentum, while it signaled stabilization in the United States.

Meanwhile, the indicator continues to point to easing growth in the United Kingdom and in Italy.

Amongst major emerging economies, CLIs for Brazil and Russia confirm the signs of positive change in growth momentum flagged in last month's assessment.

The gauge pointed firming growth in India while suggested stable growth momentum in China.
