The services sector in New Zealand continued to expand in May, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from Business NZ showed on Monday with a Performance of Services Score of 56.9.
That's down from the upwardly revised 57.8 in April (originally 57.7), although it remains well above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
"New Zealand's current economic expansion is being underpinned by a rising population and booming tourism," said BNZ Senior Economist Doug Steel.
