China's industrial profits increased further in May, though at a slower pace than in the previous month, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
Industrial profits grew 3.7 percent from a year ago to CNY 537.2 billion in May, following a 4.2 percent gain in April.
During the first five months of the year, industrial profits climbed 6.4 percent compared with the same period of the preceding year.
Profits at state-owned firms fell 7.3 percent, while private firm's profits rose 9.4 percent in January to May period.
