Japan Monetary Base Surges 24.7% In July

The monetary base in Japan soared 24.7 percent on year in July, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday - coming in at 402.457 trillion yen.

That follows the 25.4 percent spike in June.

Banknotes in circulation added 5.9 percent on year, while coins in circulation added 1.0 percent for the third straight month.

Current account balances surged 32.6 percent, including a 32.0 percent spike in reserve balances.

The adjusted monetary base was up 19.4 percent to 392.556 trillion yen.
