The construction index in Australia continued to expand in July, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from the Australian Industry Group revealed on Friday with a Performance of Construction Index score of 51.6.
That's down from the 10-month high of 53.2 in June, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, apartment building turned back to contraction, while house building saw a third straight month of growth.
Commercial construction activity moderated in July, while the engineering construction sector slipped back into negative territory.
