Everest Reinsurance Group Ltd (RE) released earnings for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $273.18 million, or $6.53 per share. This was up from $200.23 million, or $4.53 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $3.79 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 13.5% to $1.51 billion. This was up from $1.33 billion last year.
