Indonesia Manufacturing Sector Falls Into Contraction

The manufacturing sector in Indonesia turned to contraction in October, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Tuesday with a manufacturing PMI score of 48.7.

That's down sharply from 50.9 in September, and it slides beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, employment, new orders and output all contracted as inflation rates softened.

Pre-production stocks rose in October.
