New Zealand Food Prices Slip 0.8% In October

Food prices in New Zealand were down 0.8 percent on month in October, Statistics New Zealand said on Friday.

That follows the 0.9 percent decline in September.

Fruit and vegetable prices fell 5.7 percent on month, while meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 0.8 percent.

On a yearly basis, food prices were up 0.6 percent.

Fruit and vegetable prices rose 1.2 percent on year, while meat, poultry, and fish prices fell 0.4 percent.
