New Zealand's service sector growth accelerated in October, after easing sharply in the previous month, survey figures from Business NZ showed Tuesday.
The performance of services index, or PSI, rose to 56.3 in October from 54.2 in September. Any reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector.
Among components, new business, employment, sales, supplier deliveries, stocks all increased at faster rates in October.
"The PSI indicates above trend economic growth is continuing. Strong results right across the distribution sector is more evidence of buoyant domestic spending and a booming tourism industry," BNZ Senior Economist Doug Steel, said.
