India's Inflation Eases In November

India's consumer price inflation slowed further in November, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Tuesday.

Consumer prices climbed 3.63 percent year-on-year in November, slower than the 4.2 percent increase seen in October.

Inflation was expected to ease to 3.9 percent in November. In the same period of 2015, inflation was 5.41 percent.

Food and beverages cost climbed 2.56 percent and clothing and footwear by 4.98 percent. Housing cost moved up 5.04 percent and fuel and light by 2.8 percent.

The Reserve Bank of India projected headline inflation to be at 5 percent in the March quarter of 2016-17 with risks tilted to the upside.
