Indonesia's Export Growth Tops Expectations

Indonesia's exports surged at a faster than expected pace in November, figures from the Central Statistics Agency revealed Thursday.

Exports advanced 21.34 percent year-on-year to $13.5 billion in November, much faster than the 12.5 percent expected increase.

Likewise, imports climbed 9.88 percent versus a 0.1 percent expected expansion. Imports totaled $12.66 billion in November.

On a monthly basis, exports advanced 5.91 percent and imports moved up 10 percent in November.

Consequently, the trade surplus came in at $840 million. This was bigger than the consensus forecast of $818 million.
