Singapore's industrial production growth exceeded expectations in March, data from the Economic Development Board showed Wednesday.
Industrial production grew 10.2 percent year-on-year in March, the same pace of expansion as seen in February. Output was expected to gain 5.8 percent.
Excluding biomedical output, industrial production climbed 12.4 percent, data showed. Biomedical output cluster grew 2 percent.
On a three-month moving average basis, manufacturing output rose 8 percent in March compared to a year ago.
On a monthly basis, production advanced 5 percent, reversing a 5.8 percent drop in February. This was the first expansion in three months. Economists had forecast only 0.5 percent growth for March.
