New Zealand's service sector activity expanded at an accelerated pace in May, survey figures from Business NZ showed Monday.
The performance of services index, or PSI, climbed to 58.8 in May from 53.2 in April. Any reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector.
"Four of the five sub-indices increased in expansion levels during May, with the key indicators of activity/sales and new orders/business both back over the 60-point mark," Business NZ Chief Executive Kirk Hope said.
