Greece's retail sales growth improved markedly in June from a year ago, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Thursday.
Retail trade turnover climbed 3.2 percent year-over-year in June, well above the 0.4 percent rise in May. The measure has been growing since January.
Except automotive fuel, retail sales advanced the same 3.2 percent annually in June.
Sales of food products went up 0.7 percent and those of non-food products grew by 6.4 percent.
Retail sales volume also increased at an accelerated rate of 3.9 percent yearly in June, after a 0.3 percent gain in the preceding month.
On a monthly basis, retail trade turnover rebounded 2.4 percent from May, when it fell by 2.7 percent.
