Thailand's central bank raised its key interest rate for the first time in over seven years to curb financial stability risks.
The Monetary Policy Committee voted 5-2 to raise the policy rate by a quarter-point to 1.75 percent, the Bank of Thailand said in a statement on Wednesday. The decision was in line with economists' expectations.
