Food prices in New Zealand were up 2.9 percent on year in May, Statistics New Zealand said on Monday - slowing from the 4.4 percent annual acceleration in April.
Individually, fruit and vegetable prices increased 3.6 percent on year, while meat, poultry, and fish prices increased 2.9 percent, grocery food prices increased 2.8 percent, non-alcoholic beverage prices increased 0.8 percent and restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices increased 3.6 percent.
