On Thursday, four months after the American Rescue Plan was signed into law, American families having children under the age of 18 were credited with their first monthly Child Tax Credit payments.
The Department of Treasury estimates that $15 billion were distributed to tens of millions of working families with 60 million children as part of the expanded child tax credit.
