Shares of credit card company Visa Inc. (V) are down 5 percent on Wednesday's trading after retail giant Amazon Inc. (AMZN) said that it would no longer accept Visa credit cards issued in the UK from 2022. This was due to the high fees charged by Visa for transactions.
Amazon said in a statement, "As a result of Visa's continued high cost of payments, we regret that Amazon.co.uk will no longer accept UK-issued Visa credit cards as of 19 January, 2022."
Currently at $203.93, the stock has traded between $192.81 and $252.67 during the past 52 weeks.
