After an early move to the upside, stocks have given back ground over the course of morning trading on Friday. The major averages have pulled back well off their highs of the session, with the Dow and the S&P 500 sliding firmly into negative territory.
Currently, the Dow is down 248.42 points or 0.8 percent at 29,678.65 and the S&P 500 is up 26.11 points or 0.7 percent at 3,640.66. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq briefly dipped below the unchanged line but is currently up 3.35 points or less than a tenth of a percent at 10,649.45.
