Stocks continue to show a lack of direction in afternoon trading on Thursday, extending the lackluster performance seen earlier in the day. The major averages have spent the session bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line.
Currently, the major averages are turning in a mixed performance. While the Dow is down 70.76 points or 0.2 percent at 33,909.56, the Nasdaq is up 41.51 points or 0.3 percent at 12,979.64 and the S&P 500 is up 5.98 points or 0.1 percent at 4,280.02.
