Stocks moved mostly higher in early in the session on Tuesday and continue to turn in a strong performance in afternoon trading. With the upward move on the day, the Dow has reached a three-month intraday high.
In recent trading, the major averages have reached new highs for the session. The Dow is up 309.62 points or 0.9 percent at 34,009.80, the Nasdaq is up 87.14 points or 0.8 percent at 11,111.66 and the S&P 500 is up 37.34 points or 1.0 percent at 3,987.28.
