European stocks were broadly lower on Monday after a survey showed business activity in the euro zone declined for a fifth month in November, adding to the likelihood that the euro zone is sliding into a mild recession.
S&P Global's final composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the region edged up to 47.8 in November from October's 23-month low of 47.3 and matching a preliminary estimate.
