Maspeth, NewYork-based Kingsland Food Processing Corp. has called back an undetermined amount of various frozen meat and poultry products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS.
The recalled frozen meat and poultry products were produced on various dates ranging from November 1, 2022, through July 20, 2023. They have best before dates ranging from 8/01/2023, through 4/20/2024.
The products bear establishment number "EST. 48204" or "EST. P-48204" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped directly to wholesale customers in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. In California, Florida, and Texas, they were supplied to wholesale customers through distributors.
The recall was initiated after the FSIS inspection personnel observed various meat and poultry products being produced in rooms that are not within the official premises of the establishment. Therefore, they were not inspected.
However, there are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products to date.
The agency noted that some products may be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers, and urged them to throw away them or return to the place of purchase.
In similar FSIS recalls, Suya Slice LLC in mid July recalled 445 pounds of ready-to-eat beef products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. During the same period, Hyattsville, Maryland -based Mulan Dumpling, LLC also called back around 1,560 pounds of frozen meat and poultry dumpling products for the same concerns.
