After showing a lack of direction early in the session stocks have come under pressure over the course of the trading day on Thursday. The major averages have slid firmly into negative territory after spending the morning bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line.
Currently, the major averages are just off their lows of the session. The Dow is down 259.14 points or 0.8 percent at 33,545.73, the Nasdaq is down 92.98 points or 0.7 percent at 13,566.70 and the S&P 500 is down 259.14 points or 0.8 percent at 33,545.73.
