Morgan Wallen Donates $500,000 For Hurricane Helene Relief

Morgan Wallen has donated $500,000 to the Red Cross through his Morgan Wallen Foundation to help his home town of East Tennessee recover from the effects of Hurricane Helene.

"My family in East Tennessee is safe but I know many are absolutely devastated there and in multiple states," Wallen said in a statement posted on Instagram Stories.

"All my prayers are geared toward those tonight," the country star added. "Those hills and hollers are very important to me in so many ways. It is going to take a monumental effort, and I am in contact with my team and others working on ways I can help."

More than 100 people died in the devastating floods caused by Hurricane Helene in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Tennessee.

Tens of thousands of residents in these states were left without power and mobile service as the winds downed trees and hundreds of roads remained closed.

Buncombe County in North Carolina was the worst hit, where at least 30 people died and hundreds of others were missing.

Besides Wallen, fellow country artists Luke Combs and Eric Church have also announced their intention to donate to the relief efforts.
