Blake Shelton Shares George Strait-Inspired New Single 'Texas'

Country superstar Blake Shelton recently released a new single, "Texas," which he says is inspired by country icon George Strait.

"Texas" is Shelton's first release under his new label home, BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and Wheelhouse Records. The song was written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr and Lalo Guzman.

"'Texas' is a song about a guy whose girl just completely went missin'," Shelton explained. "The only place that he imagined she would've wound up has to be down somewhere in the state of Texas because that's what we all learned from George Strait."

"This is the perfect opportunity to come back with something so different, and it easily felt like it should be the first single," he continued. "It's connected with what I've done but moves forward at the same time, and it's the perfect start to the next chapter of my career."

Meanwhile, Shelton will embark on his Friends And Heroes Tour in late February following his Live In Las Vegas residency, which takes over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace between February 5 and 15.
