VEON Ltd. (VEON), a Dutch telecom and digital services company, on Friday reported a rise in revenue for the third quarter, helped by an improvement in service revenue.
For the three-month period to September 30, the company posted a net profit from continuing operations of $209 million or $0.12 per share, higher than $119 million or $0.07 per share, registered for the same period last year.
Profit from discontinued operations was $0 or 0$ per share, compared with prior year's $329 million or $0.19 per share.
Thus, earnings per share declined to $0.12 from last year's $0.26 per share.
Profit before tax from continuing operations stood at $294 million as against $184 million in 2023.
Operating income was $401 million, higher than $259 million a year ago.
Revenue was $1.037 billion, up from previous year's $945 million. Revenue from the company's service segment improved to $1 billion from last year's $918 million.
