Viking Therapeutics, Inc. (VKTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on metabolic and endocrine disorders, on Wednesday announced the initiation of a Phase 2 clinical trial for its oral VK2735 tablet formulation, a dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist, to treat obesity.
The trial, known as the VENTURE-Oral Dosing Trial, will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and weight loss efficacy of VK2735, dosed once daily for 13 weeks.
