Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA.AX) reported that its net profit after income tax for the half year ended 31 December 2024 rose to A$5.13 billion from A$4.76 billion in the prior year. On a per share basis, net income was 306.6 cents up from 282.1 cents in the previous year.
On a cash basis, net income for the period increased to A$5.13 billion from A$4.76 billion last year.
Net interest income for the period was A$11.93 billion up from A$11.40 billion last year. But net other operating income was A$2.16 billion down from A$2.17 billion in the prior year.
The company has declared an interim dividend of A$2.25 per share, an increase of 10 cents on the prior comparative period. The interim dividend will be paid on or around 28 March 2025 to owners of ordinary shares at the close of business on 20 February 2025.
