EDF Group SA (EDFEF.PK), a French electric utility company, on Friday reported an increase in net profit for the full year, amidst a decline in impairment charges and expenses. However, EDF reported a decline in sales, mainly due to a drop in prices.
For the 12-month period, the Group registered a net profit of 11.406 billion euros, higher than last year's 10.016 billion euros.
Income before taxes of consolidated companies stood at 17.395 billion euros as against 9.825 billion euros a year ago. Operating profit was 18.327 billion euros, up from 13.174 billion euros in 2023.
Operating profit before depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, was 36.523 billion euros, lesser than 39.927 billion euros last year.
Impairment moved down to 1.835 billion euros from 13.011 billion euros a year ago. The financial result was an expense of 932 million euros, compared with the prior year's expense of 3.349 billion euros.
The Group reported sales of 118.690 billion euros, down from the prior year's 139.715 billion euros, as prices fell in the countries where the EDF has business.
