Clarkson FY24 Results Climb, Lifts Dividend

Clarkson Plc (CKN.L), a provider of integrated shipping services, reported Monday higher profit and revenues in fiscal 2024. The company also lifted its dividend.

Looking ahead, Andi Case, Chief Executive Officer, said, "The geo-political outlook remains uncertain as we enter 2025, with ongoing regional conflicts and trade tensions creating uncertainty for markets reflected by freight rates and asset values currently lower than 2024. The resolution or continuation of these events during the year will provide potential headwinds and tailwinds to the Group's performance as we support our clients through this complexity."

The Board is recommending a final dividend in respect of 2024 of 77 pence per share, higher than prior year's 72 pence. The total dividend for the year would be 109 pence per share, an increase of 7% compared to 2023.

Subject to shareholder approval, the final dividend will be paid on May 23 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on May 9.

In fiscal 2024, profit before taxation were 112.1 million pounds, higher than last year's 108.8 million pounds. Reported basic earnings per share improved to 277.1 pence from prior year's 275.2 pence.

Underlying profit before taxation was 115.3 million pounds, compared to 109.2 million pounds a year ago. Underlying basic earnings per share were 286.9 pence, compared to prior year's 275.0 pence.

Revenue for the year grew to 661.4 million pounds from 639.4 million pounds in the prior year.

As of December 31, 2024, Forward order book was $231 million, higher than $217 million in the same period prior year.
