Virax Biolabs Group Limited (VRAX) presented data at the World Immune Regulation Meeting or WIRM in Davos, Switzerland, evaluating the role of T-Cell dysfunction in post-acute infection syndromes or PAIS.
Research showed that repeated stimulation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells or PBMCs with SARS-CoV-2 and CMV peptide pools led to increased expression of exhaustion markers in CD4? and CD8? T-Cells, orrelating with reduced cytokine production and impaired immune function.
Preliminary findings from the ViraxImmune PAIS assay indicated notable differences in cytokine levels between PAIS patients and healthy controls. Chief Operating Officer Nigel McCracken emphasized the significance of T-Cell exhaustion in conditions like long COVID, ME/CFS, and chronic Lyme disease, noting that the company has initiated clinical validation studies to further assess the diagnostic potential of its T-Cell-based technology.
VRAX is currently trading at $1.3699 or 8.0604% lower on the Nasdaq Capital Market.
