Avation Plc. (AVAP.L), a commercial passenger aircraft leasing company, announced on Wednesday that it had completed acquisition of an Airbus A320 aircraft on long-term lease to Etihad Airlines.
This secondary market transaction increases the company's fleet to 33 leased aircraft. The 2013 built aircraft will remain on lease to Etihad until October 2031, Avation added.
Commenting on the deal, Singapore-based Avation's Executive Chairman Jeff Chatfield said, "We are delighted to announce the successful completion of this narrowbody aircraft acquisition today which takes our total fleet to 33 aircraft and further diversifies our customer list to 16 airlines in 14 countries."
Avation had entered into the agreement with Etihad Airlines in February this year. The company said that this acquisition will enhance its revenue diversification and the overall credit quality of portfolio.
Jeff Chatfield said, "The average remaining lease term from our fleet has increased to 4.2 years at 31 December 2024. This is the first increase in this metric since the COVID pandemic ended."
