Sixty Degrees Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SXTP), Tuesday announced preliminary results from a nationwide survey indicating that the burden of babesiosis in the United States may be significantly higher than official statistics suggest, highlighting a potential unmet need for improved diagnosis and treatment options.
The company reported that 1.26 percent of surveyed U.S. adults—equivalent to approximately 3 million people—said they had been medically diagnosed with babesiosis in their lifetime.
