TomTom To Power Navigation In Smart's Global EV Lineup With Advanced Location Tech

TomTom N.V. (TMOAF) Wednesday announced that it has been chosen by smart, the premium all-electric auto brand, to provide full-stack navigation solutions for its global range of in-vehicle infotainment systems.

The collaboration will cover smart's #1, #3, and #5 models. The integration of TomTom's cutting-edge navigation tech will deliver high-precision maps, real-time traffic updates, local hazard alerts, and route optimization, significantly enhancing the driver experience. TomTom's EV services will also support longer electric journeys by providing reliable information on charger availability and route planning tailored to individual driving styles.

Smart's vehicles will also utilize TomTom's ADAS maps, which include speed limit data compliant with European ISA and EuroNCAP safety standards, contributing to improved road safety.

TomTom's SVP of Sales, Benoit Joly, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing how their technology delivers seamless and insightful navigation for smart's EVs. Smart's Global CTO, Yang Jun, highlighted that the partnership reinforces their vision for connected, convenient, and premium electric mobility.

Wednesday, TMOAF closed unchanged at $4.45 on the OTC Markets OTCPK.
