Vir Biotechnology Inc. (VIR) is scheduled to present new clinical data from its Hepatitis B and Delta programs at the upcoming European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Congress next week.
Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a long-lasting, inflammatory liver disease caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Hepatitis Delta, caused by infection with the Hepatitis Delta Virus, occurs only as a co-infection in individuals infected with the Hepatitis B Virus. It is associated with accelerated liver fibrosis, liver cancer, and liver failure.
