Playtech plc (PYTCY, PTEC.L), a gambling software development company, on Wednesday announced that it has signed an agreement regarding German Happybet assets with NetX Betting Ltd., a subsidiary of pferdewetten.de AG (EMH.BE).
Under the agreement, pferdewetten.de may contract with franchise partners for HAPPYBET shops in Germany and will also take ownership of certain associated hardware.
There will be a transition period for pferdewetten.de to talk with franchise partners and get approvals. Any HAPPYBET assets not taken over will be shut down and closed.
Playtech began the sale process for its German operations in March 2025, aligning with its strategy to focus primarily on B2B operations.
The company had closed its Austrian HAPPYBET business in the second half of 2024.
Playtech is currently trading 0.31% higher at 323.50 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
