Johnny Cash Lyrics, Diary Pages Collected In New Book

A new book featuring legendary Johnny Cash's song lyrics alongside never-before-seen reproductions of dozens of handwritten pages from his personal notebooks is set to be released.

The new book, titled The Complete Johnny Cash: Lyrics From A Lifetime Of Songwriting, will be published on October 14th. The 720-page book is priced at $60.

It will feature a collection of "every lyric Johnny Cash wrote," along with personal writings, diary entries, and 38 never-before-seen handwritten lyrics and poems, including "A Man Should Try" and "Everything's Alright."

A foreword to the expansive collection is written by the country music legend's son, John Carter Cash, with added commentary throughout the book provided by Mark Stielper.

Cash, who passed away in 2003, was recently honored with a statue in the U.S. Capitol, becoming the first musician included in the National Statuary Hall Collection. His daughter, Rosanne Cash, attended the unveiling in September to honor his legacy.
