PolyPid Ltd. (PYPD), on Monday announced positive topline results from its Phase 3 SHIELD II trial evaluating D-PLEX100 for the prevention of surgical site infections or SSIs in patients undergoing abdominal colorectal surgery with large incisions.
New data from the SHIELD II pivotal study demonstrated that D-PLEX100, when added to standard of care or SoC, significantly reduced SSI rates and met all primary and key secondary efficacy endpoints. The standard of care included prophylactic systemic antibiotics.
