Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ACXP) announced Tuesday the publication of its Phase 2b clinical trial results for ibezapolstat in The Lancet Microbe, highlighting strong efficacy and safety in treating Clostridioides difficile infection or CDI and setting the stage for Phase 3 trials.
Ibezapolstat, a first-in-class DNA polymerase IIIC inhibitor, is being developed as an orally administered antibiotic for CDI.
