Weaver Nut Recalls Nonpareil Semi-Sweet Chocolate Products

Weaver Nut Company, Inc. is recalling select chocolate products due to potential undeclared milk allergens, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The recall involves Nonpareil, Semi-Sweet Chocolate with Christmas Seeds as well as White Seeds.

The recalled Nonpareil, Semi-Sweet Chocolate, Christmas Seeds comes with item number 47518 and lot numbers 204206, 204207, 204208, 204209, 204212, and 224225.

The impacted Nonpareils, Semi-Sweet Chocolate White Seeds product comes with item number D2645 and lot codes 204214-RL, 204214, 204215, 224221, 224222, 224223, 135215, 135216, 135217, 135220, 135221, 145204, 145205-1, 145207-1, 145210-1.

The impacted products were distributed at various retail and grocery store outlets in the United States.

The recall was initiated after the firm found out the issue through a wholesale customer complaint upon receipt of shipment misaligned with updated product specification. This was followed by a lab test to confirm the milk presence.

Individuals who are allergic or sensitive to milk may experience a serious or even life-threatening reaction if they consume the recalled products.

However, no illnesses have been reported to date.

The company is working with the FDA and is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and quality of its products.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product and have a milk allergy are strongly advised not to consume it, and to either discard the product immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

In recent recalls, Homegrown Family Foods in late May recalled its Shore Lunch Oven Style Breader & Batter Mix box due to the potential presence of undeclared milk.

In May, New Grains Gluten Free Bakery called back a variety of products, including breads, bagels, cookies, and croutons, due to undeclared eggs, tree nuts, soy, and milk, all known allergens.
