In October, several important health observances are recognised, with one of the most prominent being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This international health campaign was first launched in 1985 to raise awareness, improve screening, and support early detection and treatment of breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 42,680 breast cancer deaths (42,170 in women, 510 in men) will occur this year.
In parallel with these important health observances, October also marks a busy period on the regulatory front, with several therapies awaiting FDA approval decisions.
