Coya Therapeutics - Tackling Neurodegeneration By Enhancing Treg Function

Neurodegenerative diseases affect the brain in ways that can lead to changes in personality, language, and behavior. One such condition is frontotemporal dementia (FTD) caused due to damage to neurons in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. Unlike other forms of dementia, FTD often occurs at a younger age, typically between 45 and 64 years, and affects an estimated 30,000 Americans. Symptoms can vary widely, including unusual behaviors, emotional problems, trouble communicating, difficulty with work, or difficulty with walking. Currently, there is no cure for FTD, and no treatments slow or stop the progression of the disease.

The company we are profiling today is Coya Therapeutics Inc. (COYA), which is developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, including frontotemporal dementia.
