Rapper Pras Michel has dropped his lawsuit against his former Fugees bandmate Lauryn Hill, whom he had accused of fraud and "gross mismanagement."
According to multiple sources, the lawsuit was "dropped without prejudice," meaning Michel could potentially refile at a later date.
In the lawsuit he filed in October 2024, Michel claimed Hill ended the Fugees' 2023 run early and quietly canceled the Miseducation anniversary tour in 2024, and also alleged that Hill, along with her touring company MLH, had "complete control over the business aspects of the tour which allowed her to have a total lack of transparency over the tour's management, including the handling of money."
Michel alleged that Hill and MLH failed to pay expenses related to the Fugees' 2023 tour, which at the time, were still "due and owing, in whole or in part."
He also alleged that Hill's "arrogance" and reputation for being unpunctual to live performances cost him financially, accusing her of refusing a $5 million offer for the Fugees to play Coachella because she would not accept billing below No Doubt.
Michel also claimed in the lawsuit that the group's 2023 tour "was actually a veiled and devious attempt to make a big score for herself." Citing documents, Michel claimed he believed their 2023 tour could have been "a huge commercial success" had it not been for Hill's alleged involvement in ending it ahead of schedule.
Hill called Michel's claims "baseless" and "full of false claims and unwarranted attacks."
Meanwhile, Michel is set to begin a 14-year prison sentence later this month, following a federal court finding him guilty of criminal conspiracy and illegal foreign lobbying in November 2025.
