Lainey Wilson 'Can't Sit Still' In Energetic New Single

Country superstar Lainey Wilson recently released a new single, "Can't Sit Still," her first new track in ten months.

Wilson's last single was "Somewhere Over Laredo," which dropped in May 2025.

In a press release, Lainey said the song was inspired by the fast pace of her life over the past two years.

"I'm always on the go — moving from city to city, celebrating exciting milestones, and getting the chance to hug y'all's necks along the way," she said.

The song was written by Wilson, Trannie Anderson, Aslan Freeman, and Dallas Wilson.

"I'm a kid in a classroom sitting on her hands. I'm a wayward Baptist trying not to dance. I been looking in the mirror saying, "Girl, you gotta chill." But I can't sit still," Wilson sings.

"Can't Sit Still" follows Wilson's latest studio album, Whirlwind, which she released in 2024 and expanded into a 19-track deluxe album in 2025.

The Louisiana-born country star's Whirlwind era includes the title track, "Keep Up With Jones," "Country's Cool Again," "Good Horses" with Miranda Lambert, "Hang Tight Honey," "Bar In Baton Rouge," "4x4x," "Somewhere Over Laredo" and more.
