Madonna To Release 'Confessions On A Dance Floor' Sequel In July

Madonna has announced that she will release a new album, Confessions II, on July 3rd via Warner Brothers.

The eagerly awaited album is the sequel to her iconic record Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Madonna also unveiled the a trance-like visual teaser, offering a taste of the upcoming music. Confessions II will be available on expansive vinyl, CDs and cassette.

Madonna had confirmed the existence of a companion album to Rolling Stone last year, which also noted that she was working with original Confessions producer Stuart Price in 2024.

The new album sees Madonna returning to her and Price's original "manifesto" around transcendence, community, and the dissolving of ego on the dance floor.

"People think that dance music is superficial, but they've got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it's a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language," Madonna said of the new album.

"When Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we've been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices," she added. "After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It's a place where you connect—with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It's about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people."
