Cream's 'Wheels Of Fire' To Be Reissued As Deluxe Box Set

A deluxe box set of Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Cream's third studio album, Wheels of Fire, is set to be released on June 12.

Wheels of Fire (Super Deluxe Edition) will be released as a five-CD set featuring newly remastered audio, plus a whole host of bonus material. A three-LP Expanded Edition featuring the rarities collection will be out as well.

The set will contain a collection of 15 recording, out of which nine have never been released before. An early version of "White Room"; a rough mix of "Deserted Cities of the Heart" without strings; and a single version of "Crossroads" will be part of the box set.

There will be remastered versions of the original album's four live tracks from March 1968, along with eight additional live tracks, including a previously unreleased live recording of "We're Going Wrong," recorded at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.

The set will also contain a 24-page hardcover book with rare photos and new liner notes.

Cream originally released Wheels of Fire was as a double LP in June 1968. While one LP contained recorded music, the second featured live recordings. The record topped the Billboard 200.
