Kid Cudi Drops M.I.A. From Tour Over 'Offensive Remarks'

Kid Cudi recently announced he has decided to drop M.I.A. from his "Rebel Rogers Tour," saying he was being "flooded with messages from fans" complaining about statements made by M.I.A. when she opened two early shows in the run.

M.I.A. made a viral rant during the show at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on May 2, when she was booed during a monologue that included lines like, "I've been canceled for many reasons. I never thought I would be canceled for being a brown Republican voter." She also said, "I can't do 'Illegal,' though some of you could be in the audience."

Cudi subsequently wrote on Instagram, "TOUR UPDATE: M.I.A is no longer on this tour. I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that I didn't want anything offensive at my shows, and I was assured things were understood. After the last couple shows, I've been flooded with messages from fans that were upset by her rants. This, to me, is very disappointing, and I wont have someone on my tour making offensive remarks that upsets my fanbase."

M.I.A. has since responded to the accusations, telling people not to gas light her words.

Addressing critics of her concert rants, M.I.A. said, "I have no apology for the judgmental and wicked and the ignorant, for those are spirits that we must overcome in our lives and in this world. … Jesus returns to lead the world justly because there is injustice in this world. I'm proud of those who fight for it every day."
