Trump Invites Leading U.S. CEOs To Join China Summit With Xi Jinping

President Donald Trump has extended an invitation to several top U.S. business figures to travel with him to China this week for discussions with President Xi Jinping. The aim is to help ease strains between the two nations and push forward on commercial agreements.

Expected to be part of the delegation are heavyweights like Elon Musk from Tesla, Tim Cook of Apple, Larry Fink from BlackRock, and Kelly Ortberg from Boeing. This comes from a source within the White House.

Other notable names on the list include Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, Brian Sikes from Cargill, Jane Fraser of Citigroup, David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Michael Miebach from Mastercard, Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron Technology, Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, and Ryan McInerney from Visa.

They're set to cover a range of topics like trade, artificial intelligence, export controls, Taiwan, and the situation in Iran. Trump is optimistic about locking in some business deals and purchase agreements while he's there.

Interestingly, Jensen Huang of Nvidia is not on the list, even though he mentioned it would be a privilege to represent the U.S. if asked. Cisco Systems confirmed that CEO Chuck Robbins was invited but had to decline due to the company's earnings schedule.
